Engagement Builds Community
Executive Director Eric Hostetter Models Connection

“Each gives to each, and like the star, gets back its gift in tenfold pay.”
This quote by Joaquin Miller is the vision behind the management of Bruceville Point. It’s a community where everyone is engaged with purpose, contributing, and receiving. It’s also how Eric Hostetter, the Executive Director, envisions his role.
Eric loves nothing more than being with residents and team members. He enjoys tagging along for outings, joining in for karaoke, playing guitar in the band, dressing up for Halloween, or chatting with residents in the bistro. Sitting atop the dunk tank at the annual carnival and getting drenched to bring joy to others epitomizes the extent to which Eric engages with his community.

At our spring carnival, Eric sits atop the dunk tank to bring laughter to those in our community.
Eric recognizes that the real gift of living or working at Bruceville Point is the opportunity to be engaged with others. As Tenfold’s Principal said, “He knows better than any Executive Director I’ve met how to spark joy and make a community buzz.” Eric has built a strong community by modeling connection and engagement.

Eric truly is a superhero to those who get to work and live at Bruceville Point.
Team Ownership
The residents at Bruceville Point are front and center of all that goes on. As Executive Director, Eric knows that engaging his team members is equally important. He does so by giving the team ownership of their programs and initiatives. He encourages them to try new things. And he loves nothing more than celebrating when his team members find success. Allowing team members to be engaged and take pride in their work is central to Eric’s leadership.

In team meetings, Eric defers to the expertise of his team, supporting their efforts and influencing a culture of engagement.
Owning Mistakes
As a seasoned leader, Eric knows one cannot shirk from responsibility. When a mistake happens or an issue arises, Eric addresses it head-on. He’s caring and supportive, and he knows that the only path forward is to be engaged with the messier stuff, too.
Welcoming Culture
Eric is dedicated to supporting both residents and team members at Bruceville Point, but he believes that a culture of engagement should reach everyone who enters the community. He warmly greets guests in the lobby. When team members began welcoming delivery drivers with friendly interactions and snacks, Eric cheered their efforts. He also collaborates with the Events and Adventures team to create welcoming, enjoyable events where families can connect and make lasting memories together.

Eric is quick to make you feel welcome at Bruceville Point.
Relationships First
As Executive Director, Eric’s list of tasks is never-ending. He recognizes they are his responsibilities, but he doesn’t let them take priority over the relationships he builds in the community. Being present for other people takes precedence over completing Eric’s other duties. They’ll happen in time, but people always come first.
When you walk into Bruceville Point, you’ll feel Eric’s influence. He and his team members will make you feel at home, whether Bruceville Point is your home or you’re simply visiting. It’s only when everyone is engaged—giving and receiving in turn—that a community truly feels like home.
We invite you to stop by and experience Eric’s welcoming culture firsthand!
