As part of our National Assisted Living Week celebration, “Shining Through the Years,” we had the incredible opportunity to welcome
Conservation Ambassadors’ Wild Things (whose page is Wild Things Wildlife Programs)for an afternoon that brought residents face-to-face with some truly unforgettable animal ambassadors.

From a 13-foot Burmese python (yes… THIRTEEN FEET! 😳🐍) and other fascinating reptiles to an opossum, African hedgehogs, an owl, and even a kinkajou hanging upside down above our heads, there was something new to learn around every corner.

But behind all of the “oohs,” “aahs,” laughs, and maybe a few nervous faces is an incredibly important mission. For nearly 40 years, Conservation Ambassadors’ Wild Things has provided a home for displaced wildlife while using these remarkable animals to educate people of all ages about conservation, respect for wildlife, and the importance of protecting our natural world.

We are so grateful to the team for traveling to Bruceville Point and sharing not only these beautiful animals with us, but their stories. Experiences like this remind us that sometimes the best way to inspire someone to care about the wild world is to give them the chance to meet it. 💚

If you’d like to support the work of Conservation Ambassadors’ Wild Things, there are so many ways to help - from donating or volunteering to booking an educational program, contributing needed supplies, or simply sharing their mission with others.

Thank you, Wild Things, for helping us get a little wild while Shining Through the Years! ✨🐾

Group of seniors at an event for Beekeepers

Our activities team includes some of the most creative minds at Bruceville Point. So if beekeeping—or anything else you can dream up—is on your bucket list, you can check it off. Maybe after-dinner dancing is more your speed. We have that, too. There’s something for everyone here.

Senior woman exercising

Amazing Spaces

At Bruceville Point, we’ve invested in creating wonderful common spaces where our residents gather and live. Take a look at the gallery, and you’ll see beautiful spaces where you can entertain, spend a quiet afternoon, pursue your hobbies, dine, and enjoy every aspect of the California outdoor lifestyle.

We believe that in Harbor, we can do all of the wonderful things we do elsewhere in our community. We just do them differently.

Harbor Memory Care

Harbor has a rich physical environment, with a program that offers joy in daily living and engagement with a connected community. Harbor residents have access to everything that makes the Bruceville Point lifestyle so appealing, including its own chef-created dining progam. We offer a modified fitness program and daily activities tailored to meet the needs of those living with dementia-related conditions.

Hear Directly from Our Residents

A lightbulb moment (literally) brought Jack to Bruceville Point. While standing on a six-foot ladder, leaning over a railing to change a lightbulb, he suddenly realized that caring for a large, two-story house was becoming a burden.

"I liked knowing that when I moved to Bruceville Point, if I needed more help in the future, I could get it."

What sealed the deal for Ellen was learning about the gym, personal trainer and walking paths throughout the community.

“I’m taking advantage of all the things that will help me move forward. At Bruceville Point if you’re not doing something, it’s probably because you didn’t ask if it’s possible.”
