Betty Phelps has called Bruceville Point home since October of 2024, and in that short time, she has already become a meaningful presence within the community as our Lead Ambassador. As she settled into her new surroundings, Betty felt a strong desire to give back, especially after remembering how confusing the transition initially felt. “At the beginning of my stay, I was confused about how to function in the building and especially in my apartment,” she shared. That experience inspired her to help ensure new residents feel informed, comfortable, and truly welcome from the start.

As Lead Ambassador, Betty sees her role as both people-focused and forward-thinking. She aims to inspire others to join the Ambassador Program, foster open and friendly conversations with new neighbors, and continually evaluate how the program can grow and improve. Drawing from her many years supervising teams during her career at the Sacramento phone company, Betty brings warmth, leadership, and a natural ability to connect. Those relationships - built on conversation, trust, and shared ideas - are what guide her today, helping her create a welcoming environment where new residents can feel at home just a little faster.
